Who Are We?
dadcheck®scotland belongs to Complement Genomics Ltd (www.compgeno.com) , a long established (April 2000), reliable, highly recommended and trusted DNA testing company.
dadcheck®scotland is designed to give answers to paternity and relationship questions using DNA testing technology. This service is designed specifically for use by professionals from the legal sector, by Local Authorities and by social services.
We have our own UK based and ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories, plus UK based customer services.
The ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation is a pre-requisite for inclusion on the Ministry of Justice list of companies who are recognised as “a body that may carry out parentage tests directed by the civil courts of England and Wales under section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969”.
We are proud to say that we are indeed on the Ministry of Justice list and look forward to servicing your requirements for legally admissible data. This includes Family court proceedings, submissions to the Child Maintenance Service, the Child Support Agency, the Registrar of Births and the Home Office (Immigration).
We have also many years expertise in DNA testing for forensic purposes, which can be of help in resolving inheritance disputes.
Complement Genomics Ltd is research active and is developing new products in the field of wound care associated biomarkers (we work with the National Institute of Health Research, which is part of the UK’s Department of Health). This programme, in which we partner with the National Physical Laboratory, and Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust, is focused on helping diabetic foot ulcers to heal more rapidly. Treatment of wounds in the NHS uses 3% of the total healthcare budget and by carrying out this research, we hope to be able to develop new technology which can predict which wounds will heal quickly and which will not. Hence we will be able to recommend effective treatment and ensure that valuable NHS resources are not wasted on inappropriate treatments.
Our contract services
We also carry out genetic testing in the clinical research area (www.geneblitz.com). Amongst a range of state of the art services, one of our key areas of expertise in is drug metabolism, whereby we analyse for genetic changes which affect the ability of a patient to break down drugs, a key part of determnination of the correct dose of treatment for that patient.
In this regard we have won contracts with some of the worlds largest Contract Research Organisations (CROs), who are helping pharmaceutical companies to develop the next generation of life enhancing and life saving drugs.
